After liposuction or tummy tuck a seroma is a possible complication. A seroma is a build up of fluid inside inflamed tissues in the body that may cause pain or discomfort. It appears as a balloon-like swelling and liquid movement under the skin. To drain a seroma, a needle must be pushed to puncture the skin, in order to remove the fluid buildup. Proper faja compression needs to be used after a seroma is drained in order to prevent the fluid from returning.
